Summer Playground Program Information


     Michelle Hanly, Director of Recreation, announces that the Quincy Recreation Department Summer Playground Program will begin on Monday, July 1st at fifteen locations with supervised activities for boys and girls ages 6 – 16.  The playgrounds are open from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  Monday through Friday, weather permitting. There will be no program on Friday, July 3rd

     The free program offers supervised activities that include active games and sports; weekly sports competitions, as well as arts and crafts. There are special events and weekly field trips to local attractions.  In addition to the high school and college staff members who are assigned to each playground, a sports specialist and an arts and crafts specialist visit each location in a regular rotation.  Registration is done at the playground and continues throughout the summer to accommodate youngsters who may return from vacation or summer school programs.  Participants must be residents of the City of Quincy and may attend the program of their choice.

Kincaide Park,
O’Rourke Playground,
Forbes Hill Playground,
Perkins Playground,
Palmer Park/Snug Harbor School,
LaBreque Field,
Fore River Field,
Marshall School Playground,
Wendall Moses Playground/Squantum,
Bishop Playground/Montclair,
Fenno Street Courts,
Beechwood Knoll Playground,
Mass Field Playground,
and Parker School Playground.

     The Playgrounds will be staffed until Thursday, August 13, 2020.  Additional information can be obtained by calling the Quincy Recreation Office, 617-376-1394.
