You can reach the facility by going through the main entrance of Merrymount Park located on Merrymount Parkway which begins at Adams Field. Proceed up the hill and go through the Pageant Field parking lot. There you will find two granite columns that are separated by a dirt road. Follow this dirt road down the hill and eventually into the facility parking lot.

These week-long clinics are an exploratory program for beginner and intermediate children age 8 to 16 who are interested in boating & sailing. Participants will learn a range of boating skills on a variety of boats including kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, rowboats and sailboats.

Week 1: July 1st - July 3rd* This is a 3-day Clinic
Week 2: July 8th - July 12th
Week 3: July 15th - July 19th
Week 4: July 22nd - July 26th
Week 5: July 29th- August 2nd
Week 6: August 5th - August 9th

First time participants must pass a swim test in order to go on the water! The test includes: swimming 75 yards front stroke, floating for one minute, treading water for one minute and a surface dive minimum 10 feet. The tests are conducted at Lincoln Hancock Pool.

Membership is not required for the clinics.

These week-long clinics are for experienced boaters interested in advanced boating & sailing and are open to experienced boaters ages 10 to 16. Participants will learn a increased range of boating skills on a variety of boats including kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, rowboats and will fine tune their skills and dive into the logistics of racing in sailing.

Membership is not required for the clinics.

The William F. Ryan Boathouse will open Wednesday, June 26th, 2024 and close August 16th, 2024 (Sailing will close on August 9th).

The Facility will be closed for the Holiday Beginning at Noon on July 3rd and all day on July 4th and 5th.

Memberships are required and available for those adults and families who would like to use the facility at their leisure during the following hours:

Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Friday's from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

During Open Boating hours, children must be accompanied by an adult.

Please note that equipment availability will vary during during Clinic hours and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.

You’ve seen the kids do it, now it’s your turn! The facility also has an adult program where Quincy residents are able to enjoy this popular activity. Adults will be able to kayak on their own through our beautiful creeks and lagoon. Quincy residents may also sail through our lagoon and have the opportunity to take sailing lessons with our staff on an appointment basis in the afternoon.

Adult memberships cover use of boats including rowing, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding and even sailing. Adult members are free to explore the lagoon and creeks during the hours of operation upon availability of boats.

If interested in sailing, two lessons are included in membership and can be made by appointment at 2:00, 4:00 or 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Additional lessons are available for a fee. Advanced sailors are open to utilize the sailboats on their own after their skills have been assessed.

All equipment such as lifejackets and paddles are provided!

Memberships are required and available for those who would like to use the facility at their leisure!
