Updated 2018 Schedule
The Instructional Ski and Snowboard Program is Cancelled, Tuesday, January 23, 2018, Due To Poor Weather Conditions and the Forecasted Rain. As per our practice, we will add one week. The Program will now go until February 6, 2018. Please mark your calendar!
General Information - Registration November 30, 2017!
This program will consist of 5 weekly lessons on Tuesday afternoons beginning January 2, 2018.
Registration will begin November 30, 2017 and continue until the program is full or December 21st.
Lessons will continue for five consecutive weeks as weather and ski conditions allow.
Please phone the Quincy Recreation Department at 617-376-1394, if unsure.
The program is open to boys and girls age 8 through high school.
The Blue Hill Ski School will be responsible for all activities at the ski area.
There will be Recreation Staff Members supervising bus transportation and remaining at the ski area.
THIS ACTIVITY IS CONDUCTED BY THE DEPARTMENT ON A SELF-SUPPORTING BASIS. PARTICIPANTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR COSTS INCURRED WHEN LESSONS ARE CONDUCTED. IF WE DO NOT COMPLETE FIVE WEEKLY LESSONS REFUNDS WILL BE MADE ON A PRO-RATED BASIS.
In the interest of the safety of our participants along with the growing recommendations of child safety advocates and the ski industry:
Helmets will be Required for ALL Participants
in our Ski and Snowboard Program this season!
Rentals are available from Blue Hills or you may bring your own helmet.
Online Registration Information
There are multiple choices for online registration: ski, snowboard, rentals, no rentals, and/or helmet rental!
Please choose the option that is the best fit for your child(ren).
Helmets are required this year and are available to rent for the 5 week program for $30. If registering online, add a helmet to your cart before checkout if you are interested.
3:15 - 3:30 pm - Arrive at the Recreation Office to board the bus
3:30 - Bus departs Recreation Department Office at One Merrymount Parkway.
4:00 - 4:30 - Arrive at Ski Area, Rental Pick up and Prepare for classes.
4:30 - 5:45 - One and a half hour supervised lesson according to ability of participant.
6:00 - 6:30 - Return rentals, etc.
6:30 pm - Depart Ski Area
7:00 pm (approximately) - Return at the Recreation Office
Skis and snowboards are loaded on the bus by the REAR DOOR only.
Please have participants dress accordingly for the activity.
There is a snack bar and ski shop located at the Blue Hills Ski Area.
If a participant brings a hot beverage, NO GLASS CONTAINERS, PLEASE.
